Cut the Cord or Buy a Bundle?
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Kristy Verity email@example.com
(Southampton, NY… March, 2019) Streaming services are nudging cable television aside as single device technology is taking over the market. Early adapters of smart tech will remember the iPhone emergence; a first of its kind encapsulating phone, music and camera in one pocket sized device. Televisions have followed suit, fast forwarding past the need of dvd’s, cables and dvr. Audiences ranging from Millennials to Baby Boomers are now buying smart tv’s to bring music, video, and live television to their screens while keeping both form and function in mind.
Home Technology Experts (HTE – htney.com) tackles a question most people are asking: What is better, cable or streaming? “Homeowners are on a mission to streamline household technology on the least amount of devices, and have every viewing option in one place. Smart tv’s own the market and continue to break the mold with options and picture quality,” states Alex Karoussos, President of HTE. New products have even tackled the issue of aesthetics, where a Sunday sports fan and a discerning interior designer may share a wall without compromise, with mounted tv’s that display fine art or mimic a mirror when not in use.
While quality of picture progressively increases (4K) streaming content has yet to keep pace. While streaming is undeniably convenient, it can be limiting to image quality and the number of tv’s in a home. “Your tv may have the capacity to emit a 4K image but the quality of your service will always depend on your internet connection. With a poor connection, your investment in a high-end device will suffer if the picture is not great. We see this happen often. It’s incredibly visible when streaming sports or highly detailed productions; the picture quality just does not compare to hard-wired cable,” says Alex. “Streaming is usually limited to a certain number of devices, as well. Say, three devices on a subscription and five tv’s, laptops and tablets in your home. You will only be able to watch on three at a time.” Cable has less limitations and delivers a better picture through 1080i or 1080p, depending on connection. A direct connection to the tv delivers high-end video output for a less pixelated and clearer picture. “Live action sports always stream better when connected to cable,” says Alex. “The only downside to cable is apparent, the tv must be connected to wires and a cable box.” While TIVO has become all but forgotten, Karoussos is still a believer, “It’s worth a look. TIVO offers solutions for free over-the-air stations with an antenna that delivers amazing picture quality and networks such as NBC, ABC plus streaming.” Apple has announced they will mix it up and become the ‘cable box of streaming.’ Karoussos is a fan, “You can use Apple TV for everything." HTE determines the best solutions based on discussion, customizing the audio video project to a client’s wants and needs. “Cable isn’t dead yet.”

Home Technology Experts’ New Experience Center Mimics Luxury Smart Home Technology
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Kristy Verity email@example.com
(Southampton, NY... February 2018) Home Technology Experts (HTE – htney.com) is offering clients a new way to discover their services with a new showroom in Southampton. The innovative experience center mimics home installations of the company’s elite systems, incorporating the functionality of luxury technology into high-end décor. Features in the crisp, modern space include products by Alexa, Control4, Lutron, Paradigm Persona, Samsung, Savant, Séura, Sonos, Sony, and more. With a goal of giving prospective clients and partners a resource to become more knowledgeable about home technology, the showroom was designed to emulate a home environment.
“We always felt that in order for our clients to truly understand all the available home technology options, they need to be able to experience it for themselves in a home-like environment,” says HTE president Alex Karoussos. “Our showroom emulates a typical home, complete with a full kitchen by Ciuffo Cabinetry, a dining room, living room, lounge and study. Each area features one or more different solutions that we have found to work well for our clients over the years.”
In an effort to connect with home and design industry partners, HTE invites people to utilize the showroom, which is open to the public, as a workspace and a place to connect with clients. There is a full kitchen with refreshments, conference table, sitting area with sofas and tables, multiple televisions, and connection options for presentations. The space also features the various types of systems they offer.
“In our lounge, we feature a Sonos surround system and a much higher end ‘true’ surround sound system,” Mr. Karoussos explains. “We did this so that our clients can get a better understanding of why it may or may not make sense to spend the extra money on a higher end system. It’s one of those things that you really need to hear for yourself to decide. We also feature very high end invisible speakers that can be spackled and painted over so that they completely disappear into the room. Again, this concept is hard for most people to understand without hearing it for themselves.”
The showroom is located at 241 County Road 39A, Unit 4, Southampton, New York 11968. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday by appointment from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hamptons Landscape Lighting Shines a Light On
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Kristy Verity email@example.com
(Southampton, NY… February 2018) With warmer weather on its way, Hamptons Landscape Lighting (HLL – hamptonslandscapelighting.com) is preparing for another season of enhancing landscape design. Sharing that seemingly random objects can become a unique way to illuminate distinctive landscapes, HLL offers tailored lighting solutions for residential and commercial properties that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also offer added convenience and increased security. A newer concept HLL is looking forward to is umbrella lighting.
“By illuminating umbrellas and using their colors’ natural reflectance, we are able to provide functional lighting in an otherwise unobtainable location,” says HLL designer, Scott Armusewicz. “The end product combined with the illumination from the pool lighting creates an aesthetically pleasing and unique gathering space for our clients and their guests. This is one of many creative ‘outside the box’ ideas we at Hamptons Landscape Lighting pride ourselves upon.”
By uplighting the umbrellas, HLL simultaneously creates a downlighting effect to the surrounding areas through reflection. A pool’s reflection can then enhance the illumination further. Other trending lighting solutions include specialty pool and surrounding area lighting to create a personal oasis. LEDs with different color temperatures, HLL creates a unique atmosphere ranging from sleek and modern to whimsical and majestic.
There is also an added security benefit with landscape lighting. Proper illumination enhances walking and driving conditions on a property while also deterring trespassers. This lighting can be integrated with existing security systems.
The HLL workspace, which is part of the new Hamptons Technology Experts experience center, is located at 241 County Road 39A, Unit 4, Southampton, New York 11968. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday by appointment from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hamptons Real Estate Rocks On
(Southampton, NY… September 2018) Home Technology Experts (HTE – htney.com) owner and President, Alex Karoussos builds an East Hampton spec house from the ground up and lists the fully integrated ‘smarthome’ with his brother, Hamptons real estate broker and local rockstar, Telly Karoussos of Douglas Elliman, East Hampton.
With the ongoing question of how to create a brand identity in the sea of Hamptons brokers, Telly Karoussos, an avid and well-known musician and singer/songwriter, had some fun with a previous real estate listing by placing a rustic wooden guitar in various corners and spaces throughout the house. Each room, including the bath, hosted the guitar with rope strap, lending a sense of whimsy, curiosity and relatability. The guitar was the beginning of Telly’s ‘brand.’
With the question of how to incorporate and elevate the Telly Karoussos brand into the newly listed HTE Smarthome selling strategy, a music video idea was proposed. With innovation on the forefront, Alex Karoussos was keen and gave his brother, along with HTE marketing director, Kristy Verity, free range of creative direction. “The idea was to emanate livability; to visually create a scene that would allow the viewer to see beyond the house, to see 11 Indian Hill as a home.” Ms. Verity explains.
Telly wrote a custom song for the listing, plays his guitar and sings as the video was filmed on-site and throughout the town of East Hampton, featuring well-known attractions such as Nick and Toni’s Restaurant and bonfire on the ocean beach. The video ends with a subtle nod to smart home living, with a one-touch Control4 lighting system, designed and installed by HTE.
The HTE Smarthome is located at 11 Indian Hill, East Hampton, New York with listing courtesy of Douglas Elliman [listing id H19046] brokered by Telly Karoussos https://www.elliman.com/real-estate-agent/listings/sale/pantelis--telly--karoussos/8493
