Father's Day Gifts for the Tech Savy Dad

Our experts have complied a list of 10 presents any techie would love to receive

1. Exterior Audio Visual Equipment

From audiophile landscape speakers to weather proof televisions and projectors HTE has everything you need to give the gift of outdoor entertainment. Dad can swim laps to his favorite music or watch the game on the patio. The only thing better than knowing your dad loves the gift is enjoying it yourself when he's not home.

2. Savant Tiling

Savant video tiling is the perfect gift for any man cave or home office.  Sports fans and news junkies alike will love the fact that they can view multiple sources (including computers and mirrored devices) all on one screen.  Whether he's coaching his fantasy league or  tracking his stocks, this is a gift dad is sure to use.

3. PICO BREW ZYMATIC

A food chemist, computer scientist, and engineer walk out of a bar... and create their own beer.  While it may sound like a joke, the Pico Brew is the perfect for the father who enjoys craft beer.

All dad has to do is "program" his brew through a web interface, load the grain and hops and wait, the machine does the rest, eliminating human error. He can choose from award winning recipes, or create his own.

4. TV Lift

Media lifts and decor are an ideal way to enjoy the functionality of televisions and projectors and  discreetly store them when not in use.  Great for both indoor and outdoor use, a media lift will allow dad to keep his perfect view in tact when not watching his favorite movie or show.

5. iWatch Savant Control

At HTE were still not sold on the iWatch, but some of you are.  If you're thinking about getting dad wearable tech this Father's Day, make sure he knows that he can control both his Lutron and Savant systems with Apple's iWatch.

6. Golf Simulator

If your dad’s a golfer this gift will be an ace!  While nothing could replace actually being on the green, high end golf simulators come pretty close.    They’re perfect for cold or rainy days and a quick way to get in some practice.

Mom, they’re also a great training environment for when he decides to teach the little ones.

7. Mame Multiple Arcade Machine/Steam Box

Let's be honest, some dads are just big kids, so let them play.  For the old school gamers, think about getting him a Mame Multiple Arcade Machine with preloaded and downloadable classics.

For the hi-tech gamer, think about a steam box , where he can download both new and retro video games.  This option allows him to play on the screen of his choice with a wireless controller as opposed to standing at the arcade game.

8. Drone

Combine a fun gift (flying helicopter) with a practical application (taking pictures) and you have our next gift, drones with built in cameras.  You can get him one with an interrogated camera or a done that safely secure a camera of your choice.  Just make sure you check your local regulations as some Long Island towns are trying to ban this nifty gadget.

9. Cell Booster

Dads use their phones. It doesn't matter if he is negotiating an important business deal, or calling to check up on you. In order to make that call he needs to have reception. Anybody who has been to the Hamptons knows getting a decent signal is easier said than done.  This father's day get your dad a cell booster so can have phone conversations without worrying about dropping the call.

10. Grill Bot

If your dad dominates the grill, think about getting him a Grill Bot.  Yes, it is exactly what you think it is, a Roomba for your grill.  Set the bot for a 10, 20, or 30 minute cleaning cycle and it will move around the grill scrubbing the grates.  Once the grill is clean, even if that is before the programmed cycle is up, the bot will automatically stop and beep to indicate that the grill is clean.
