More Than A Make Over: Savant Systems

The “New Savant” is here!  In a complete rebranding-product launch combo, the company has set themselves apart from the rest of the pack, literally changing the way we look at customizing home automation.   The new app provides users extensive yet simplistic customization abilities with a refined appearance.

DROID FRIENDLY

You read that correctly, Savant can now be downloaded on both iOS and Android devices.  This is great news for those of you who love Savant but don’t want to part with your Droids.

THEY’VE GOT THE LOOK

Savant changed their logo, redid their website, and created an elegant interface that radically differs from their previous appearance. The new app is reminiscent of parallax scrolling, featuring large customizable image tiles. The user-centric app allows you to arrange the tiles according to preference and sort by either room or service.

CREATE, CAPTURE, & CUSTOMIZE

You now have the ability to create a scene from scratch using your device.  A simplified process similar to how we used to program your scenes in the past. There’s also the option to create your ideal scene and then “capture” those settings.  With a press of a button, the values of each designated service is saved as a new scene which you can name. The app gives you the ability to capture/edit one room, multiple rooms, or the entire home at once. No matter how you create them, all scenes can be adjusted at a  later date.

YOURS, MINE, & OURS

Each user now has their own profile, allowing for access permissions and customized interfaces.

You can decide which user, can control which services, in which room.  This allows you to regulate who can adjust what where.  For example, you may not want your child to be able to adjust the HVAC, or a cook may want to keep sole control over their kitchen.

Since the app is user based, different images can represent the same room or service. For example you may want De Niro for your home theater while your son wants the Ninja Turtles. Users can also arrange the order of rooms and services.

If you want more than one person to use the same profile, that can be done.  For instance if you want to create a Surname profile for dedicated control devices (the home theater iPad) that can be done.

COMING SOON

The system upgrade and accompanying app will be released in mid-November.
